career information

personal statement

I have recently graduated from the university of sheffield, with an upper-second class degree in bsc landscape design and ecology. I undertook this with the eventual aim of qualifying as a chartered landscape architect.

current studies

ecology studies include: general plant science and physiology, land and conservation management, plant associations, ecological practices, regeneration of contaminated land and soil studies.

landscape architecture studies include: landscape design theory, ecological design, landscape construction, planting design, environmental assessment and associated planning issues.

career interests

my primary career interest, lies within the field of contemporary landscape design. I aim to apply this holistic design approach to all aspects of my work.

the role of computers and other developing technologies are another area of interest where I hope to study further. in addition, I am also looking at ecological design and mitigation, as well as environmental impact assessment.

as a landscape professional, I believe I am fortunate to be able to consider problems from a range of perspectives. thus I am able to look at projects as an ecologist, a planner, a contractor and as a designer.
